UDUAGHAN ALL TIME BEST GOVERNOR IN ENTERTAINMENT AWARD - BEFORE YOU GIVE HIM THE AWARD BY DELTA STATE BASED ENTERTAINERS...
We want you all to read this article with a clear and open mind because am about to raise some issues and I need answers.
We don't expect everyone to see things from our angle and that's a normal thing.
And so on this note, let us proceed with this Article.
Recently we saw on the News that our Executive Governor Uduaghan will be given an Award as the ALL TIME BEST GOVERNOR IN ENTERTAINMENT and a THANK YOU CONCERT will be organize for the awards ceremony.
But Is the Tag 'ALL TIME BEST GOVERNOR' in Delta state or the whole of Nigeria, we don't know.
Ordinarily, we wouldn't have say anything but something struck us and so we decided to put out this write-up so that the organizers will answer us before they give him the AWARD.
We writing not only an entertainer from Delta State but a people that feels the pain directly.
Now the first sentence that caught our attention was ALL TIME BEST GOVERNOR IN ENTERTAINMENT. We are still wonder winghat the person that choosed that name was thinking in his mind. We don't think if he knows the meaning of ALL TIME BEST in any thing you do in life.
For example in football, no body can be given the Award of ALL TIME BEST FOOTBALLER no matter if he scores 2millions goals because no matter what, football is a continuous game and records are meant to be broken. Even in politics, you cant say a governor is an ALL TIME BEST PERFORMING GOVERNOR when we know the next Governor might do far better than him. So using that Tag ALL TIME BEST GOVERNOR is out of place.
But we understand why such an heavy name should be use. I guess the Heavier the Name, The Heavier the OSUSU that follows it..
Men gat hustle because after May 29 na new government o. So I understand.
Going further, we took a look at the reasons for giving our Executive Governor this huge honor on behalf of entertainers in Delta State are not even being carried along before using the General Name, DELTA STATE ENTERTAINERS.
We don't know if Comedians base in Delta are not part of entertainers in Delta state although they were mentioned inside the statement on the newspaper. even the President of Comedian Guild Delta State does not know anything about this.
It goes to show maybe there is a new group made up of probably 2-3 people with the name DELTA STATE ENTERTAINERS registered with C.A.C and they are the ones doing this because over 90per cent of Entertainers in Delta are not part of this project except a few cabal with access to Government house.
They come, collect money and off they go to their base while the main Delta entertainers suffer neglection from not only the Government but from people they feel should have stand up for them.
But is it a deliberate attempt not to build structure to empower the Delta Base entertainers? Is it so that, when the Top entertainers comes to town, the comedians, dancers, musicians in Delta State will turn to their errands boys all in the name of loyalty?
Money nor dey Warri, but some come and perform for 800k to 1million.
They organize concert in Delta State, Pay small comedians apart from Flight ticket, hotel accommodation and feeding up to 500k and yet they pay our best here 50k and some will still reduce the money.
Can you try that in Port-harcourt?
Now concerning this award the statement continued;
Delta state capital under Uduaghan's administration, Asaba, Delta state capital became renowned as the home of Nollywood.
Are you serious or you are you kidding us?
We all know over time that location for different movies production varies over time to time.
There was a time where all movies where produced in Lagos state. But people got bored of films showing only lagos as locations and so movie producers moved to the east to produce films and now they have moved to Asaba Delta State Capital.
NOTE! No government influences movie locations, its the movie producers that search for Locations that fits their movies but its a plus if Government put down structures that suit locations.
So giving credit to the Governor that Nollywood now shoots movies in Asaba is out of place, is like giving the President Jonathan Award because the super Eagles won the World Cup.
Hotels and other structures that producers use to shoot are not build by Government but private individuals. You can't tell me Asaba have more structure than Akwa Ibom state most especially Uyo the State capital.
Uyo is a first class city with road networks, massive structures and all that but yet not much movies have being produce there. And so its not the sitting Governor but the locations at that point in time.
To make Nollywood stay longer, why didn't the Governor through RMD who is commissioner for culture and tourism build a film village in Delta State so that we can understand the importance of this Award.
Fellow Moderator, time keeper, with the facts above that we have made, I guess we have been able to prove that the first reason for giving the Award have been defeated.
Then the second reason they gave reads;
Today the state has produce half of the number of entertainers in the country.
More comedians have become rich and it is one of the fastest employer of the youths who have talents as humor merchants.
Let us break this statement into two.
1st: Today the state has produce half of the number of entertainers in the country.
OUR ANSWER: true the state has produce half of the number of entertainers in the country but which among them did the Government made who they are today?
Ali baba, I Go Dye, I Go Save, A.Y, Bovi, Maleke, Don Jazzy, D'Prince, Eva, Akpororo, Emeka smith, Elenu, Shakara, RMD, Ogus Babe among other only made it to the top individually without government support or structure on ground to help them and so why give him the glory for what he did not contribute inside na?
Or do you think all these entertainers would have made it here if they had remain in Delta State? No Sir!
The second part Is this;

OUr ANSWER: Show me one comedian that the Government made rich and we will show you 400 comedians based in Delta battling with poverty but are wearing fine clothes to cover up themselves.
Except those that have excess to Asaba who come to collect their share of the Delta Cake and off they go just like they are about to do this time again with the Award concert.
In this last 8years, Entertainment in Delta State have not improved. Night life is not bubbling due to security challenges at night in the State because its either you are robbed by Area boys or Police arresting you for late night movement but Delta Entertainers are trying their best.
Why is nobody asking the Government, why we only have DRTV and DBS as the only Tv stations in the State unlike Edo State and other closing by states that have up to 4 if nor more tv stations.
Please before you give him the Award, ask him why DRTV is known for just showing Obituary advert.
Please before you give him the Award, ask him why DRTV has not been upgrade to international standard even with all the in flow of billions into the state every month.
Please before you give him the Award, ask him why most private individual/corporate companies sorting for license to open both radio and Tv station are in one way or the other have not be able to get license.
Please before you give him the Award, ask him why Delta Talent Quest (DTQ) was abolish because that was the only project that entertainers would have really benefited from. Because we hear RMD is defending Budget but for which project that we don't know about.
This is a digital world where the mass media plays a major role most especially in entertainment.
The 2face and Don jazzy of the world got to where they are today because we have Television stations to watch them, we listen to their songs on radio, we read about them and download their songs from websites.
All these put together are why we are celebrating this people today.
And so Please before you give him the Award, ask him, why did his government looked away when we needed him most but a few cabal of Delta Entertainers living in Diaspora coming Back home to give him the out of this world Award of ALL TIME BEST PERFORMING GOVERNOR IN ENTERTAINMENT just to get their own Share our the DELTA CAKE.
We are just wondering if you give our Governor this Award now with the current state of entertainment in Delta State, what you will give the next incoming Governor. Maybe ALL TIME GOD GOVERNOR IN ENTERTAINMENT or OUR GOD IN ENTERTAINMENT AWARD. Hahahahaha!
Please before you give him the Award, ask him why no structure was put on ground before living office.
Delta Entertainers are finding it difficult promoting themselves because of these factors. Imagine if we have more radio stations like Crown Fm, or we have our own version of HIPTV where we would have gone in terms of Publicity.
For Crying out loud, this is the home of entertainment and should be treated as one.
But nobody is saying these things, nobody is ready to tell Government the truth. Wetin Concern Me, as long as I collect my own attitude is killing the industry in Delta State.
Some people go to Asaba and Deceive him that all his well because we not going to put all the blame on him alone. We know he can't be every where but its his responsibility to do some findings on his own instead of just releasing money. Some people are taking the Government for a ride.
We will end here by Advising our out Going Governor not to collect this AWARD because even in his conscience, he knows that truly nothing was done to improve the life of the ordinary Entertainers on the Street of Delta State and the much talked about DELTA BEYOND OIL did not reflect in any where here on Delta state entertainers..
And Lastly, to the brains behind this Awards, no body stops you from hustling to get your own DELTA CAKE but stop dragging the ordinary Delta entertainers into your hustling because you know they won't benefit from the CAKE but you guys.
You can say I Mr Z is giving the Award and not every body because you are not our mouth pieces. The Comedian Guild Delta State is the umbrella Body for all comedians in Delta state but you have overlooked it planning this and yet you are mentioning comedians inside.
You know the ordinary Delta entertainers are not in support of this and stop giving the unsuspected public the feelings that all Delta state entertainers are in support but rather, its the few Cabal doing this.
You that have access to Government house is only concern about your pocket. Remember if Entertainer out of frustration start robbing people, your Mother, Brothers, Sisters and relations might fall victims before the police catches time because what's goes around comes around.
You that we feel should draft a proposal like a road map and present it to the State Governor and push for implementation for the better good for all entertainers is going is concern about Giving Award and collecting money as usual.
To every Delta Base entertainer reading this, we have spoken your mind but we know you will also join them out of fear and loyalty to those who have promise you fame or money or job among others to label us TROUBLE MAKER or any other name but we don't care.
With one voice we can effect change and it will be for our own good. This is your job and you shouldn't joke with it because this is Not another JOKE.
Have said our own because we come from a country where if you dare speaks the truth, they label you a TROUBLE MAKER but we will use the lyrics of one of our proud son in Delta state, SHUN BEBE; CHAIRMAN WHO YOU HELP?
